High Voltage Insulator Coating (HVIC)

INTRODUCTION

Hangkai high voltage insulator coating(HVIC) is a ready-to-use room temperature vulcanized(RTV) silicone product that independently developed by our company and has obtained product invention patent. Hangkai high voltage insulator coating (HVIC) has passed and got type test reports of 1000h, 1700h, 5000h UV&Salt fog Accelerated Weathering test, Inclined Plane Tracking&Erosion test, Dry Arc Resistance and other tests issued by laboratory member of the Short-circuit Testing Liaison(STL).

Fluorine-containing raw material is added to the product. With the improvement of basic polymers, the addition of fluorine-containing silicon materials, and the replacement of methyl groups with fluorine groups, Hangkai High voltage insulator coating(HVIC) enhances not only the adhesion between the coating and the substrate to be coated, but also the hydrophobicity and water repellency migration, oil resistance, weather resistance, UV resistance and self-cleaning properties of the coating , and the surface properties of the original coating are improved.

The fillers use nano-scale Al(OH)3 and SiO2. Compared with ordinary fillers, nano-scale fillers enhance the interaction between the interface of the substrate and can be more fully dispersed into the matrix glue, with more surface active points, the physical adsorption effect on silicone rubber molecules is enhanced, and the adsorption performance is increased, thereby effectively improving the mechanical properties of the mixture, improving the tensile strength, elongation at break and heat resistance of the coating, and enhancing the wear resistance, the adhesion and hardness of the coating.

The addition of vapor-phase nanoscale SiO2 doubles the aging resistance of the coating. Due to the extremely small particles are larger than surface area, the web structure can be formed quickly when the coating dries, and the physical strength and smoothness of the coating can be increased at the same time. In addition, the nano-silica particles added can improve the dielectric strength and wear resistance of the coating.

A single component, RTV, moisture cure, high-build polysiloxane coating providing excellent long-term hydrophobicity, hydrophobicity recovery, electrical characteristics and UV tolerance leading to suppression of leakage current,Strong arc resistance and tracking resistance, reduction of pollution related flashover risk, a long service life and significant increase in pollution flashover voltage level.Intented application areas are as follows:

  • For transmission lines and substations from low voltage to high voltages

  • For high contaminants environment, including salt fog, sandstorm, cement dust, acid emission, high UV light, high humidity, chemical pollutant, corrosion area, etc

  • Refresh coating over old coating

  • In high-speed train, railway and other high voltage application.

APPLICATION

Cleaning:

  • Prior to applying the coating, all surfaces must be dry, free of dirt, grease, oil and other materials. There are two ways suggested to clean the surface:

  • l High pressure water washing, with a dry abrasive cleaner if necessary, crushed corncob or walnut shells.

  • l Ultrasonic cleaning equipment: 100% cleaning effect on lightly polluted insulators and 98% cleaning effect on seriously polluted insulators can be achieved with the ultrasonic cleaning technology (please check the before Fig1 and after picture Fig2  in Pakistan Project)
